The Department qualifies its students to obtain a high degree of Bachelor (Master) in the following specialties of the Department:

Biomedical Sciences.

Microbiology.

Zoology.

Botany.

The department should be a house of expertise for postgraduate studies and scientific research in the main disciplines of life sciences.

The Department seeks to prepare qualified scientific and research cadres in various branches of life sciences and contribute to the advancement of scientific development to serve the needs of society in the fields of education, research and development.

• Education, training and preparation of specialists with a high degree of Bachelor [Master] in the fields of life sciences and biomedical sciences, and qualifying them scientifically and research to be competent pioneers in the fields of teaching, consulting, research and development in educational, health, industrial, agricultural, oil, Environmental, Research, Scientific and technical consulting institutions, in the fields of Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, and Biomedical Sciences.
• Teaching and enabling students of methods and methods of conducting accurate scientific research, applying and evaluating them, and acquiring skills of using modern technologies and employing them in fields of specialization.
• To enable students to produce theses, dissertations or scientific researches with new knowledge and useful to society.
• Preparing, translating and publishing scientific research in the fields of biology and biomedical sciences, as well as authoring and reviewing scientific sources of books, reports and specialized scientific publications.
• Strengthening ties and building bridges of cooperation and exchanging experiences with relevant scientific, research and technical institutions at the Libyan, Arab, African and international levels, and promoting openness to knowledge and global developments in the fields of Life Sciences in general.
• Providing scientific and technical assistance and consultations to all bodies, institutions and ministries, contributing to addressing and solving various related scientific issues, and establishing ways to develop performance and achievement in order to achieve the great benefit of society.
• Preparing creative pioneers with the ability to develop research plans and field studies that are of interest to the community and reflect the satisfaction of its immediate needs, and provide solutions to its current problems and future programs.
• Exchange of scientific and technical expertise and assets with the relevant authorities inside and outside Libya.
• Developing talents and positive skills in scientific work with a focus on developing the spirit of cooperation, teamwork, effective leadership, a sense of responsibility and care towards the public and private assets of various duty stations.
